The last of the large dinosaurs that dominated the permian era and the early triassic period. They fed in large herds and defended themselves with two long cheek tusks.
EVIDENCE:The main Placerias find is just south east of the Petrified Forest in St Johs in Arizona,where 40 individuals were found in one place! The Placerias was orignially thought to be a species of a dinosaur.
SIZE:Maximum lenght of 3 metres (10 feet) but it weighed well over a tonne.
DIET:Mainly low vegetation but it dug for roots as well.
